Stump grinding is popular because it's fast and affordable. But fast and affordable isn't always the right answer - especially when you have bigger plans for your property. Grinding removes what's visible above ground. The stump itself, along with the root ball underneath, stays right where it is.

That matters a lot if you're planning to build, grade, or run any kind of utility lines across the cleared area. Buried root systems decay unevenly over time. They can create voids in the soil, cause settling issues, and become a real headache when crews start digging for footings or trenching for pipes. The last thing you want is a hidden problem surfacing after construction has already started.
