Backfilling and Grade Correction Around a New Shop Build

A lot of people don't think about drainage until the building is already up. By then, the ground around it has been disturbed, the natural slope is gone, and the first good rain tells you everything you need to know. Water pools against the foundation. Mud collects where there should be stable ground. It's a common problem - and a fixable one.

This is exactly the kind of work we do. Backfilling and grading around a finished or nearly finished structure takes the right equipment and a good eye for slope. You can't just push dirt around and call it done. The grade has to move water away from the building, consistently, or you're setting up the owner for a headache every time it rains.

We come in on jobs like this whether we handled the original site prep or not. If another crew left the lot in rough shape, we're not too proud to clean it up. Our track loader lets us work tight against structures without causing damage, and we move material efficiently so the job doesn't drag on longer than it needs to.

The goal is always the same - stable, properly graded ground that protects the building long-term. A shop, a new home, a garage - it doesn't matter. If the grade is wrong, the structure is at risk. Getting it right after a build is just as important as getting the site prep right before one.
